The Seleccion de Bodega line translates into only the best of the best going into the this Doña Paula 2007 Malbec. The result is a concentrated wine everything a top-flight Malbec should have.
This wine really has full spectrum nose. Red Fruit, violet, caramel, a bit of spice make an inviting confection.
Into the gulp, those scents carry forward and are met with some chocolate, mineral balanced acidity make for a long finish. Good Stuff!
Musical Match: This wine is so ticghlty packed with different characteristics it needs an orchestra conductor, but the spunky nature of the wine isn’t made for the symphony hall, but the dance hall! Swing with this wine and Colin James and his Little Big Band!
Special thanks to the Wines of Argentina for providing me transportation, great lodging, amazing food and access to the wonderful wine and winemakers of Mendoza and Cafayate during a promotional tour of Argentina for 10 days in July 2011. This wine was sampled during that promotional tour.
