Languedoc has become the focus of my attention over the last while. And this 2007 Estibals Minervois by domaine l’Ostal Cazes tastes very typical of the south of France, for so many good reasons.
On the nose you get a buckets of blackberries, seasoned with a bit of peeper and rounded out with vanilla.
The gulp is powerful even for Minervois standards. The blackberries find companionship with raspberries, cherries. A little green green pepper works in on the end.
Really good fruit, really good punchy wine, nice pepper and vanilla notes make this a great wine for a meal or on it’s own. You will keep pouring this wine, and keep going back for more!
Musical Match: Lots of power and lots of fun, classic and unpretentious describe this wine and classic rock track: Bad Company’s “Can’t Get Enough” Cheers!
